A Story About the Evolution of Taiwan Cement Developed on a Beautiful Island, Formosa
Taiwan Cement Corporation was officially transformed from a state-owned enterprise to a private company in 1954. The first shareholders’ meeting was held in the San-Jun basketball court at the plaza in front of the Presidential Office at 11am on November 11th.
Lin You-Long from the Lin Family in Wufeng, Yan Qin-Xian from Keelung, Chen Qi-Qing from the Chen Family in Kaohsiung, the former Chairperson Lin Bo-Shou, and the former senior Chairperson Koo Chen-Fu witnessed this meaningful moment, and the story representing the Taiwan brand began.
In 1962, Taiwan Cement became the first IPO company in Taiwan with the stock ticker 1101, and Koo Chen-Fu officially took over the position of Chairperson in 1973. In 1974, the Taiwan Ten Major Construction Projects were launched and Taiwan Cement followed government policies to expand operations and help to build a new world in Taiwan. As a pioneer leading the followers, Chairperson Koo carried notable responsibilities for Taiwan Cement's development and the execution of the country's diplomatic missions. From PBEC, PECC, APEC to the Koo-Wang Talks, he conquered tremendous obstructions in the international community, leading Taiwan to overcome challenges and marching to a wonderland. Finally, Taiwan Cement grew with the development of Taiwan and followed the steps of the world. The Taiwan Ten Major Construction Projects that started from nothing created the Taiwan Economic Miracle and made modern life possible in Taiwan. And now, the results remain in our daily life.

Transformed from an Active Environmental Protection Advocator to a Model Student of Environmental Protection
and an Environmental Service Provider
Thirty years later, the development in Taiwan made a significant step ahead. Chairperson Koo stepped down from TCC, and Leslie Koo took over the Chairperson position in 2003. With his hawk-style management philosophy, Chairperson Leslie Koo had led TCC to a brand-new era, as a hawk grabbing the opportunities with its sharp claws. Moreover, by implementing the most advanced IT tools, Chairperson Leslie Koo helped TCC create an unprecedented marketing model in the cement industry. He built the “Informatized Intelligent Management 4.0" platform that integrated the big data and formed with more than ten years of experience and information, with the IoT Cloud and handheld devices, ensuring the management team was able to access the accurate information. This platform was beneficial for improving TCC's competitiveness and recreating a high quality and sustainable company. At that period of time, TCC was ready and fully prepared for the competitive world.
Chairperson Leslie Koo gave TCC a mission: "transforming from an active environmental protection advocator to a model student of environmental protection, and even an environmental service provider." This mission was a new starting point, clearly showing the future path for TCC.

A Stage Focused on a Green Environmental Engineering Company Handling the Complex Relationship Between Civilization and Nature
"Resource Recycling, Green Energy, and Low-carbon Cement" are the three cores in the TCC business, and the "Environment, Energy, and Ecology" are the three major pillars for the future TCC development. Chang An-Ping officially explained the blueprint for the transformation and the TCC upgrade at his first Investors’ Conference in 2017 after taking over the Chairperson position in January 2017. He also mentioned, TCC will not only be a cement manufacturer and seller but also an eco-solution provider dedicated to ecological solutions and protection of the natural environment.
TCC is one of the Taiwanese representative brands. Unlike merely producing cement in the past, TCC will be an eco-friendly enterprise, and actively solve environmental issues, shifting itself to an eco-solution provider. By applying innovative technologies and thoughts, TCC has continuously developed new energy sources, and move forward to a circular economy model with "zero waste, zero pollution, and zero-emission," creating new values as a sustainable enterprise.
