MQE Battery Plant Environmental Monitoring Report – August 2025

Molie Quantum Energy Corporation battery plant (hereinafter referred to as the “MQE battery plant”) is engaged in battery manufacturing. On July 14, a fire broke out due to the combustion of semi-finished batteries during testing. The Kaohsiung City Government immediately dispatched a professional team to conduct environmental monitoring and continued to publish real-time data on social media platforms and the official website. According to the Kaohsiung Environmental Protection Bureau’s monitoring results, no toxic gases have been detected outside the plant to date.

During the fire, firefighting wastewater was directed into the plant’s internal storage tanks, and the Kaohsiung City Government Fire Department assisted with pumping trucks to transport the wastewater off-site for treatment. Prior to treatment, each load was sampled and tested (up to July 25) to confirm that pH levels and water temperatures met disposal standards. All results were compliant. The wastewater was then sent to Kaohsiung Linhai Linyuan & Dafa Industrial Parks Combined Wastewater Treatment Plant for treatment, and discharged only after meeting the Ministry of Environment’s effluent standards. The entire plant is currently shut down.

As the fire raised concerns among nearby residents about possible trace amounts of hydrogen fluoride (HF) and its impact on air quality, we fully understand the inconvenience and anxiety caused to the local community and environment. To demonstrate our firm commitment to environmental sustainability, MQE battery plant has proactively commissioned a third-party agency to conduct testing and publish reports on key environmental indicators from August to December for community reference.

All subsequent waste removal operations will comply with regulations and receive approval from government authorities. In addition, we will communicate in advance with local neighborhood leaders to ensure transparency and rebuild mutual trust through concrete actions, continuing to safeguard environmental safety.

In early September 2025, MQE battery plant announced the environmental monitoring results for August. The latest data indicate that both the air quality at the plant’s perimeter and the runoff rainwater meet national standards, with no impact on the surrounding environment.
