On March 2nd, Chairman Nelson Chang showed up at the National Taiwan University campus job fair and talked to our AI virtual colleague of Taiwan Cement Corporation's 001 NOAH. Journalists spotted in news coverage photos that Nelson Chang was holding a blue water bottle, found it as a gift from Taiwan Cement Corporation's 2022 shareholders' meeting.

The design of this water bottle makes it very easy to carry, and it can also keep drinks warm. It sparked the idea of carrying it with me, so I started bringing the water bottle with me.
The editorial team of TCC's sustainable newsletter found that he has the water bottle with him when giving speeches or attending panel talk. Nelson even used the water bottle as a toast cup when toasting at local events.
Chairman Nelson Chang's zero-waste lifestyle began even earlier in 2016, at the same year, LDC Hotels & Resorts announced that the hotels would not actively provide disposable amenities. Since then, when traveling domestically and abroad, Chairman Nelson Chang always prepares his own toothbrush, toothpaste, and soap box in his travel kit and never uses disposable razors again. "How could I promote a sustainable action to my customers that I can't even do myself?" "Opening a new pack of soap every night in a hotel room and then throwing it away is just a waste, so I started bringing my own soap and soap box when traveling around the world." Talking about how he initially decided to change his travel gear, he said that once he made some changes in his life, although not perfect, it makes him to improve his lifestyle habits.
Over the years, Chairman Nelson Chang has also prioritized purchasing shirts and pants made from recycled fiber materials. In fact, the seed of environmental protection should have sprouted in his mind as early as when he worked in the United States 50 years ago.
During an interview, Chairman Nelson Chang casually picked up a pencil that he has been using this No. 2 pencil since he was in his twenties drawing engineering design. It is an old, internationally renowned brand established in the 17th century, and the pencil body is made of material certified by FSC (100% Wood from well-managed forests). Nelson Chang revealed that he had developed a habit of using the back of every piece of paper whenever possible, striving for maximum reuse. He mentioned that this practice was not about cost-saving but the keen desire to prevent trees from being cut down due to wasting habits on Earth.

We should not just be residents of the Earth but become EARTH HELPER to help the Earth move forward.
In 2022, Nelson Chang initiate the EARTH HELPER, and sincerely hoping that both himself and the world can become better.
