The United Nations has set a target for new buildings to reduce embodied carbon by at least 40% by 2030. In response, TCC is developing the lowest carbon products at operational sites worldwide. In October 2023, TCC launched Taiwan's lowest-carbon Portland-limestone Cement Concrete, which has received positive feedback from partners across Taiwan. During COP29, TCC invited hundreds of partners to establish the "Low-Carbon Construction Pioneer Alliance," contributing to environmental sustainability through the production and use of low-carbon building materials.
Accelerating the energy transition is essential to global climate change. Taiwan, with its limited natural resources, faces challenges in developing a single renewable energy source. Therefore, Taiwan has fully promoted "Aquavoltaics" since 2018. Balancing the development of both sectors and fostering co-prosperity with local communities is essential. A young aquaculture expert from NPUST has joined TCC Green Energy at the aquavoltaics site in Chiayi to explore solutions through hands-on experience.
About 90% of global trade is carried by maritime transport, which relies heavily on fossil fuels, contributing around 3% of global carbon emissions. In response to the 2050 net-zero emission target, Ta-Ho Maritime Corporation, under TCC Group Holdings, not only complies with the latest international regulations on ship carbon reduction to protect the ocean and ecology but also proactively adopts various energy conservation and carbon reduction measures to meet the sustainability development needs of international clients and enhance market competitiveness.
